Islambasics Library: You Ask And The Quran Answers

1) Who is the creator?

(40:64) Allah, it is he Who has made for you the earth as a dwelling place and the sky as a canopy. and has given you shape and made your shapes good (looking) and has provided you with good things. That is Allah, your Lord: so Blessed be Allah, the Lord of the Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists).

(39:6) He created you (all) from a single person (Adam) ; then made from him his wife {Hawwa , (Eve)}. and He has sent down for you of cattle eight pairs (of the sheep , two , male and female ; of the goats , two , male and female of the oxen , two , male and female and of the camels, two, male and female). He creates you in the wombs of your mothers: creation after creation in there veils of darkness. Such is Allah your Lord His is the Kingdom. La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). How then are you turned away?

1. Inimitable
It dares you to disprove it. How? It says that humans cannot write a book like this even if they pooled all their resources together and got help also from the spirits. The Qur’an said this issue fourteen hundred years ago and yet no one has been able to disprove it. Billions of books have been written-but not another one like the Qur’an.

When Islamic Legal Principles Differ

The essential foundations of Islamic Law are shared by all four schools of thought: the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the unanimous consensus of the Muslims. All Muslim jurists aside form the Zāhirī scholars also recognise juristic analogy (qiyās) as a method for extending a ruling established by one of the three agreed-upon sources to new and unprecedented cases.

The Virtue of Offering Ramadān Greetings

At the start of the month, the believers get busy exchanging special greetings and happy salutations, using all sorts of joyful expressions. They convey these salutations in person and through various other means, like greeting cards, phone calls, e-mails, SMS messages, and video messages. These messages contain the sweetest words, often along with prayers of blessing and gentle advice.

When the Prophet Did Not Do Something

We receive Islamic legal rulings from the Prophet (peace be upon him) in three ways: his words, his deeds, and his tacit approvals. Ibn Rushd asserts in Bidâyah al-Mujtahid that this is one of the undisputed principles of Islamic jurisprudence. As for the Prophet abstaining from something, that is not one of the three ways.

So what are the legal implications of the Prophet (peace be upon him) not performing an act?

Collective Participation in the Sacrifice for `Id al-Adhâ

Offering a sacrifice for `Id al-Adhâ is an emphatic Sunnah according to the opinion of most scholars. Hanafî scholars differ, considering it an obligation upon a person provided that he is not a traveler and that he possesses the amount of money that makes him liable to pay Zakâh. [Radd al-Muhtâr (5/198)].

According to the strongest opinion, however, it is an emphatic Sunnah and one animal can be sacrificed on behalf of an entire household. This is in accordance with the practice of the Companions. Abû Ayyûb al-Ansârî stated: “A man used to slaughter a sheep on behalf of himself and the people of his household.” [Sunan al-Tirmidhî (1505), Sunan Ibn Mâjah (3147), al-Muwatta’ (1075), and Sunan al-Bayhaqî (9/268)]
